Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts

In the wake of devastating storms across Western North Carolina, The ASHF teams have mobilized our Hands On Carolina Relief efforts and have experienced unprecedented support for our senior citizens and their caregivers. From the peaks of Mitchell County to the valleys of Haywood County, we’ve provided critical evacuation assistance to over 200 elderly residents, established four emergency shelter locations equipped with medical support, and coordinated the delivery of essential medications and supplies to hundreds of seniors and members of their community. Our volunteer teams have visited shelters to provide support to locate transitional housing and care.

All while our community outreach programs have connected vulnerable residents with vital resources, including emergency food supplies, temporary housing, and medical care coordination. We have created 8 community outreach centers to support local community members with donated supplies and support. Hands on Carolina has been in the mountains of WNC support those who assist senior housing organizations in the area, providing essential resources and coordination hubs for relief efforts.
